Almost three years after he died, the United States and Pakistan have officially announced the death of Mullah Mohamed Omar, Taliban leader and arch-terrorist. The Afghan government announced that it holds credible information that in April 2013, Omar died in Pakistan. The US State Department also confirmed the news, but did not give
more details.

Omar is one of the leaders of world terrorism, set up by the Taliban terrorist organization ago 21
years ago. He fought against the Soviets who ruled Afghanistan and then against the Americans; in 1996 HE conquered Afghanistan and was its president until 2001, when he left his leadership post, following the heavy American bombardment.

Due to the extremist organization’s ban prohibition to pose for photographs, there are no clear pictures of Omar, and few are the Westerners who met him. Those who did meet him,, spoke of a man who lived as an ascetic cave dweller.
