Cyber War: The United States announced that a month and a half ago, they experienced one of the largest and most dangerous attacks in history, directed against the Federal Agency Human Resources server, stealing data of over 4,000,000 (4 million) government employees, past and present, including sensitive information about employees of sensitive branches of American government.
US government officials told various news agencies that the unprecedented attack was executed outside the United States. According to government officials, the attack was carried by the Chinese cyber army of hackers.
However, Chinese officials were quick to deny any connection to the attack, and the Chinese Embassy in the US stated to the media that “jumping to conclusions, and raising hypothetical theories are Irresponsible and not helpful”.
Administration officials told news agencies that since the breach was discovered, procedures were tweaked and security level was raised. In addition, the US Government alerted the targeted employees to immediately change their passwords and alert relevant bank authorities for fraud alerts to prevent foreign agencies from exploiting them.
